BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS

For the week of Nov. 26th, 2003

If you are looking for a stuffing recipe that will become your tradition try 50 Best Stuffings and Dressings by Rick Rodgers. This book is divided into several sections that include bread stuffings, corn bread stuffings, rice and grain stuffings, fruit and vegetable stuffings, and meat stuffings. If you only use this book at Thanksgiving it will take you a very long time to get through all 50 recipes. So go ahead and create some of these festive side dishes any time of the year.
One of my favorite series of cookbooks is The William-Sonoma Cookbooks. They are always beautifully photographed, but more importantly they are filled with delicious recipes that work well, combined with helpful hints on preparing the ingredients used in the recipes. The William-Sonoma Thanksgiving by Michael McLaughlin, Chuck Williams is no exception. This year I will be adding the “Golden Mashed Potatoes with Leeks and Sour Cream” to our table, along side the “Maple-Glazed Carrots.”
